Recently, Brite-Line’s preformed marking tapes were successfully applied to the Changshen Highway Expansion Project, a key project in the 14th Five-Year Plan of Guangdong Province, and were highly praised by the owner for their excellent performance.
As a pilot project of Guangdong Province’s “Stronger Transportation” strategy, the G25 Changshen Expressway Hehui Section Expansion Project is about 116.6 kilometers in length, starting from Dongyuan County, Heyuan City and ending at Huiyang District, Huizhou City, and adopting the standard of a two-way eight-lane expressway for expansion. This section is one of the busiest highways in Guangdong Province.
As the Guangdong Highway Expansion adopts the mode of “passing while constructing”, the Guangdong-Ganzhou-Hehui Highway, where the project is located, as the main traffic artery in the northeast of Guangdong, needs to ensure the safe passage of vehicles during the construction process. For this reason, the project team constantly optimizes the traffic organization scheme, following the principle of “reducing interference, guaranteeing access, and scientific organization”, to ensure that construction and access are not compromised. In addition, the project passes through ecologically sensitive areas, and a number of environmental protection measures have been taken during the construction process, such as preventing soil erosion and protecting wildlife habitats, in order to minimize the impact on the surrounding ecological environment, which further increases the complexity and cost of construction.
Brite-Line’s temporary pre-formed marking tapes PL4000 series (white and orange) played an important role in this expansion project. The product is easy to construct, with its own adhesive backing, ready to use, and will not damage the road surface when removing, significantly reducing the road closure time. At the same time, the product has zero heavy metal content, less pollution to soil and groundwater, and avoids the carbon dioxide, dust and noise pollution generated by traditional marking construction during construction and removal, which is more in line with the environmental protection requirements of this reconstruction and expansion project.
It is worth mentioning that some sections of this project also used Brite-Line’s new product – PLU10022B Dot Temporary Shock Deceleration Pre-formed Marking Tape. The product adopts advanced technology of preformed molding, with high-quality rubber as the substrate, with excellent retro-reflective properties. Its bright yellow color is especially eye-catching on the road, and can provide drivers with clear visual cues. The product is especially suitable for downhill sections of highways that have been temporarily reconstructed and expanded, and can effectively warn drivers to slow down in advance, further enhancing driving safety.
The successful implementation of this project is the result of the joint efforts of Brite-Line and its strategic partner–Guangzhou Lujieming Traffic Technology Co.
