On March 10, 2026, the world-renowned transportation exhibition Intertraffic Amsterdam 2026 grandly opened its doors, and the highly anticipated Intertraffic Awards were ceremoniously announced during the opening ceremony. Brite-Line’s independently developed NavTac Temporary Tactile Guidance System stood out among 15 shortlisted companies from around the globe, winning the Special Jury Mention.

It is understood that the Special Jury Mention is an honor specially conferred by the jury to products of exceptional social value and innovation. Brite-Line’s NavTac received this award for its innovative solution providing safe guidance for visually impaired individuals in temporary scenarios. Notably, this marks the jury’s reinstatement of the “Special Mention” honor in recent years! Brite-Line has also become the only Chinese enterprise to be shortlisted for and win an Intertraffic Award in the history of the Intertraffic Amsterdam exhibition over many years, signifying international authoritative recognition of Chinese innovation in the field of accessible mobility.

Jury Chairman Pieter Litjens remarked during the awards ceremony: “This year’s selection process was particularly inspiring, not only because of the rich diversity of solution types but also due to the passion and conviction behind each of the nominated products.” Jury member and CEO of Parking Network, Jorrit Weerman, highly praised NavTac: “This product truly makes a difference in people’s lives – it makes temporary urban environments more friendly for everyone.”

Co-creation with Users: Innovation Born from Real Needs

The birth of NavTac was no accident; it originated from Brite-Line’s deep collaboration with a school for the blind and visually impaired in Hanover, Germany. For a long time, temporary scenarios such as road construction around the school and bus stop relocations lacked a temporary solution to provide safe guidance for visually impaired individuals, causing significant difficulties for teachers and students.

Brite-Line’s R&D team went deep into the campus, engaging in face-to-face communication with visually impaired individuals to listen to their real needs. After multiple rounds of testing and improvement, they ultimately developed the NavTac Temporary Tactile Guidance System. This philosophy of co-creation with users is the core reason NavTac can truly solve practical problems.

NavTac: Guardian of Accessibility in Temporary Scenarios

The NavTac system comprises NavDots (warning studs) for hazard alert and NavLines (guidance strips) for directional guidance. Utilizing highly visible orange preformed tape, it provides clear, perceivable, real-time guidance and warnings for visually impaired pedestrians. The product’s core advantages include:

✅ Easy Installation: Quick to apply and remove without special tools; can be installed simultaneously with construction barriers.
✅ Wide Applicability: Suitable for various pavements including asphalt, concrete, and stone blocks, meeting the needs of different scenarios.
✅ Safe and Durable: Slip-resistant surface withstands all weather conditions; the bright orange color alerts all pedestrians, including those with visual impairments, to changes ahead.
✅ Environmentally Friendly: Contains zero heavy metals, causing no pollution to soil or groundwater. The installation and removal processes significantly reduce dust and noise pollution.

Currently, NavTac has been successfully implemented in municipal pilot projects in cities such as Hanover and Cologne in Germany, effectively helping municipal authorities, event organizers, and construction companies efficiently and flexibly address temporary tactile paving challenges.
