As global efforts in smart city development and accessible mobility continue to deepen, Brite-Line remains committed to bridging the “accessibility gap” in urban public spaces through innovative technology. We are pleased to share that our tactile guidance solution for the visually impaired — NavTac (NavDots and NavLines) — has been shortlisted for the User Experience Award 2026 at Intertraffic Amsterdam, one of the world’s leading transportation exhibitions.

The Intertraffic Awards feature three categories — User Experience, Inspiration, and Green Globe — attracting top innovators from around the world. This year, 15 companies made the final shortlist. Brite-Line is proud to be the only Chinese company among them. Our NavTac product will compete alongside renowned European brands such as SKIDATA (Germany) and Monotch (Netherlands) in the User Experience category. This recognition not only highlights Brite-Line’s innovation strength, but also reflects the trust and validation from the market and users in our dedication to inclusive urban mobility.

Solving the “Temporary Challenge”: Lighting the way for 250 million visually impaired people

Roadworks, major events, and temporary bus stop relocations often disrupt tactile paving, creating safety risks for the visually impaired. With over 250 million visually impaired individuals affected worldwide, there has long been a lack of a complete, efficient, and compliant temporary tactile guidance solution.

Brite-Line NavTac was developed to meet this challenge. More than just a product, it is a transformative solution for temporary urban mobility. The system consists of NavDots (warning studs) for hazard identification and NavLines (guidance strips) for directional guidance. Manufactured in a high-visibility orange, the tape offers a clear and tactile path for pedestrians.

Why NavTac Stands Out

  • Easy to Install: Quick application and removal without special tools; can be installed alongside construction barriers.

  • Versatile Application: Suitable for asphalt, concrete, stone, and other surfaces, adapting to various scenarios.

  • Safe and Durable: Slip-resistant surface withstands all weather conditions. The high-visibility orange alerts both visually impaired and sighted pedestrians to changes ahead.

  • Environmentally Friendly: Zero heavy metal content, no soil or groundwater pollution, and significantly reduced dust and noise during installation and removal.

NavTac has already been successfully implemented in municipal pilot projects in cities such as Hannover and Cologne, Germany, helping local authorities, event organizers, and construction teams efficiently and flexibly manage temporary disruptions to tactile pathways.

The winner of the User Experience Award will be announced at the Intertraffic Amsterdam Opening Ceremony on March 10, 2026. Brite-Line remains guided by its mission, “Saving lives by making our roads brighter,” working towards a safer and more inclusive mobility future.
